Create Your Own Garden-Style Dahlia Centerpiece

Friday, September 4th at 7:00pm

Come spend a late-summer evening in the gardens.

September is when the garden seems to give richest deepest tones.

Buckets overflowing with dahlias.
Beautiful grasses and textures.
Little flowers you may have never seen in a bouquet before that will simply win your heart.

And for one evening, you get to play with all of it.

What You’ll Experience

We’ll gather in the gardens for an easy, unhurried evening of flowers creating beauty with your own hands.

You don’t need floral design experience.

You don’t need to be “creative.”

And you definitely don’t need to already know what you’re doing.

I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step as we create a lush, garden-inspired centerpiece starring freshly harvested dahlias.

You’ll learn:

  • how to build a strong, supportive foundation

  • how to choose flowers that work beautifully together

  • how to place stems with confidence

  • how to use different dahlia shapes, sizes and colors

  • how to add movement and texture so your arrangement feels natural rather than stiff

  • how to know when your arrangement is finished

Then you get to make it yours.

Choose from the bounty of what is blooming in the gardens that week and create a centerpiece that won’t look exactly like anyone else’s.

You’ll Leave With

  • A beautiful elevated compote vase to keep

  • Your own full garden-style dahlia centerpiece

  • Floral mechanics and techniques you can use again at home

  • More confidence arranging flowers on your own

  • And that wonderful little feeling of looking at something beautiful and saying, “I made this.”

Why Dahlias?

Dahlias are notoriously a challenge to design with. They have "faces" that only go specific directions. With a little bit of guidance and practice you will feel confident designing with these beautiful flowers.

With a little guidance you will look design with because no two seem quite alike. soft romantic varieties to rich, dramatic colors and big, wonderfully showy blooms.

Some are round and perfectly formed.
Some are ruffled.
Some are cute lil buttons.
Some practically demand to be the center of attention.

We’ll let the flowers blooming that week lead the way.

Why This Workshop Is Different

This isn’t a crowded class or a rushed craft night.

You’ll be learning right in the garden, just steps from where the flowers in your arrangement were grown.

Everything is intentionally relaxed and confidence building.

There is always time to ask flower arranging questions. Time for

Time to simply enjoy being outside among the flowers on a September evening creating something remarkable.
