Choosing Your Wedding Flower Vibe
The Stories Behind the Ella June Color Options (Color Matters!)
Wedding planning can be overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to find stunning, high-value flowers that feel deeply meaningful without blowing your entire budget.
You’re bringing your whole tribe together. You need a resource that helps you involve your close-knit family and friends while still letting them enjoy celebrating The Best Day of Your Life (so far!)
As long as you end up with the most beautiful, elegant and textural fresh florals imaginable that fit your vibe, you’ll be happy.
Your flowers shouldn’t just be decoration; they should be a full, heartfelt reflection of the love and commitment you are celebrating.
This is why I operate as a solo farmer florist right here in my gardens in Middleton, Idaho. My mission is to give the budget-conscious, resourceful bride like you an amazing, unique look. My A La Carte and DIY Buckets of Blooms options offer high value, allow your tribe help where they want and let you step into your day feeling like a true Mountain Goddess.
I choose every seed and plant specifically based on the feeling and story I know they will give you.
So, how do I make sure the flowers match the exact emotional tone of your ceremony? The secret is in the color. I group my blooms into three main color palettes. These choices guide all my design work—from Friday Flowers to funerals—and most of all they are the key to setting the perfect emotional tone for your wedding.
The Joyful: An Explosion of Love and Color (Inspired by Kylie)
This is the palette that just makes you smile and captures pure, unrestrained happiness. It’s rich, bright, cheerful, and absolutely unforgettable. It’s named for my past bride, Kylie, who wanted her flowers to be an explosion of all the love and joy she was feeling. It’s a bold choice that shows your confidence and your vibrant, celebratory spirit.
If you are planning an outdoor wedding—especially a stunning celebration in the foothills of the Treasure Valley—or if you want to involve your close-knit family in the flower-making process, this is for you.
The Vibe: Fun, bold, high-energy happiness. You feel transformed—a true Mountain Goddess of the garden.
The Colors I Grow: Eye-popping fuchsia pinks, bright tangerine oranges, deep eggplant purple, and sunny lemon yellow.
Specific Flower Examples (Grown in Idaho!): Look for our vibrant Diva Dahlias (but the dark pink ones!), bright Queeny Zinnias, and tall spikes of Delphinium in electric blues and pinks.
A’la Carte & DIY Options: Yes for both! You can also choose The Joyful for A’la Carte florals and DIY Buckets of Blooms. This is a wonderful bonding activity for your tribe!
The Sweetheart: Elegant, Soft, and Timeless (Inspired by Sierra)
Maybe your style is a little more refined and soft. The Sweetheart palette offers a classic elegance without losing that feeling of garden abundance. This palette is named after my completely DIY gorgeous bride Sierra, who wanted the softness and history of her French roots reflected in her day. She loved the idea of old-world charm and quiet luxury.
These colors are all about beautiful, romantic subtlety, perfect for a church wedding or a classic ballroom.
The Vibe: Soft, elegant, and beautifully romantic. Think of a lovely sunset and a gentle hug—it’s pure pastoral peace.
The Colors I Grow: Blushy pinks, creamy buttery yellows, soft peachy tones, and a delicate lilac.
Specific Flower Examples (Grown in Idaho!): We focus on fluffy, high-end blooms here, like buttery yellow Ranunculus, soft blush Lisianthus, and the highly coveted Apricot Stock which brings that gorgeous French-inspired fragrance.
A’la Carte & DIY Options: Yes for both! You can also choose The Sweetheart for A’la Carte florals and DIY Buckets of Blooms.
The Classic: Crisp, Clean, and Unfussy
In 2025, I noticed so many brides were asking for a simple, crisp look that didn’t rely on a lot of accessories. This inspired me to add The Classic palette to my services. This look is about clean, white flowers paired perfectly with rich greens, or sometimes a touch of gentle blue. It's the ultimate in sophistication.
The Vibe: Clean, modern, and perfectly traditional. A flawless, polished look.
The Colors I Grow: Pure white (never cream) with deep green foliage, or sometimes a pop of deep blue Scabiosa.
A’la Carte & DIY Options: This palette requires a very specific selection of high-end, pure white blooms that are best handled by me. It is only offered through my A La Carte Floral Pieces where I handle all the design work for you, but it pairs perfectly with both The Sweetheart and The Joyful Bucket’s of Blooms.
A Guide to My Three Flower Seasons
These three beautiful color choices—The Joyful, The Sweetheart, and The Classic—can be reached in all three of my growing seasons. Each season brings its own magic, giving my brides the freshest, most heartfelt blooms available.
Spring: The Season of Unforgettable Fragrance
Spring offers the most incredible fragrance of all! My garden wakes up with so many delicate blooms, perfect for an early summer bride.
The Flowers: I grow heirloom fragrant narcissus, the papery thin, delicate petals of ranunculus, mind-blowing hellebores, gorgeous bleeding hearts, tulips, and beautiful blooming branches.
The June Bride’s Secret Weapon: My favorite spring bloom comes in the late part of the season—big, fluffy peonies! They are ready just in time for June weddings.
Summer: The Season of Abundance and Choice
Summer has the most blooming choices! This is when my gardens are truly bursting with color and texture.
The Flowers: We enjoy fragrant phlox, the ever-popular lisianthus, tall spikes of delphinium, and my most sought-after specialty echinacea.
Dahlias Arrive: By mid-summer, we even start to get our delightful, large dahlias, signaling the shift toward late summer bounty.
Fall: The Season of Rich Texture and Variety
By the time Fall arrives, my dahlias are in full, glorious bloom! This is a magical time for texture and rich, deep colors.
The Flowers: If you love sunflowers, this is the time of year for you! I grow them in bold, bright colors that can go straight into The Joyful buckets, as well as soft, pastel sunnies that will have you second guessing what you think sunflowers should be—perfect for The Sweetheart! We also have abundant zinnias, cosmos, hydrangea, and adorable mini flowers.
My Fall Favorite: My personal favorite for fall is the Japanese anemone. You will never see a more delicate bloom floating above a bouquet than these. The variety of colors I grow fits into all three of my color choices.
Involving Your Tribe: The Magic of DIY Buckets of Blooms
If you are a bride like Kylie—budget-conscious, resourceful, and looking for a meaningful way to involve your close-knit family and friends—my A’la Carte and DIY Buckets of Blooms are your high-value solution where 100% of your flower budget goes to your flowers.
How the Buckets and A’la Carte Work:
Choose Your Palette: Select either The Classic, The Joyful or The Sweetheart palette.
Estimate Your Needs: We work together to figure out just what will fit best in your budget. You fill out the form including your flower dreams. I’ll get back with what pieces and how many buckets you’ll need based on what you plan to make (centerpieces, aisle markers, etc. that fit into your budget).
The Harvest: The week of your wedding I harvest the freshest, most beautiful flowers that fit your color palette from my Middleton gardens. Curating the perfect mix of focal flowers, filler, and greenery—I design the pieces you want professionally done. The rest will be loose stems in buckets ready for your group to design with.
The Bonding Activity: You gather your mother, sisters, aunties, bridesmaids, and close friends (your tribe!) for a bit of memory making before your wedding. Pick up your flower pieces and buckets. Turn on ‘Thinking Out Loud’, share all your favorite stories, and place your own wedding florals right where they suit you best. This is where the true value in DIY lies: creating lasting memories; building the beauty of your venue just for your day. It’s a truly heartfelt representation of your community and commitment.
